Gram Panchayat Department – District Gram Vikas Nidhi Loan Scheme

Under Section 133 of the Maharashtra Gram Panchayat Act, 1958 and rules from 1960, District Gram Vikas Nidhi is created from Panchayat contributions. Loans are given to fulfill duties under Section 45(1). Contribution: 0.25% of prior year’s income including government aid. Loans up to 20 times (or 30 times for productive works) of average surplus income from the past 3 years can be approved. Loans above ₹60,000 require Zilla Parishad’s general body approval.
